Blues legend B.B. King has died. He was 89.
I live for the blues. B.B. holds a special place in my heart. His music helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. I was thrilled to meet him in 2008 when he was honored by the Congressional Black Caucus Spouses at their annual Celebration of Leadership in the Visual and Performing Arts. I hugged him and whispered in his ear.
While I’m saddened by his death, the thrill will never be gone. Mr. King’s music will bring joy and comfort for generations to come.
Rest in peace, B.B.
