For as long as I can remember, the Virginia Tourism Corporation has proclaimed “Virginia is for Lovers.”
Well, at least it was until Gov. Bob McDonnell showed some love for the Confederate States of America. McDonnell claimed he wanted to honor the “sacrifices of the Confederate leaders” to increase visitors for the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the Civil War.
Now, a Democratic PAC is using McDonnell’s racial gaffe to try to motivate African American voters to turn out for the midterm elections (h/t Talking Points Memo).
TPMDC observes the script “features a man and woman talking having the kind of conversation about politics only a advertising copywriter could dream up.”
Or two white political consultants exploiting race and black folks to get paid.
