New York Gov. David Paterson is legally blind. But even Stevie Wonder can see the thrill of having the state's first African American governor is gone.
A new Marist poll found that only 19 percent of New York voters approve of Paterson’s performance. More than half are pining for former Luv Guv Eliot Spitzer, aka Client 9.
Dr. Lee Miringoff, the poll’s director, told the New York Post:
It’s a 30-year low in our polling -- and it may not have hit bottom yet. Forty percent rate his performance in office “poor,” and just 2 percent say “excellent.” That’s astoundingly low.
While Al Sharpton and other black politicians back Paterson for governor in the 2010 election, black voters prefer Attorney General Andrew Cuomo 56-23 percent.
