I love New York, but I really love Brooklyn.
Earlier this week, I was holed up in my apartment to avoid the heat and humidity. But yesterday, I spent my lunch break listening to the soulful grooves of Ryan Shaw and Otis Clay at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s R&B Festival at MetroTech.
I later spent the evening "under the stars above" in Prospect Park with Isaac Hayes. OK, there were thousands of folks there for the kickoff of the 30th anniversary of Celebrate Brooklyn. And yes, we went nuts when he performed "Shaft."
