I’m often asked whether I miss living in DC. The short answer is: Hell no. That said, I still enjoy a Washington scandal. The unfolding scandals have all the elements of a good drama: sex, drugs, money, more sex (and here), and intrigue.
Former CIA director Porter Goss’ statement that his abrupt resignation is “just one of those mysteries” is tantamount to a taunt to investigative reporters. It reminded me of Gary Hart’s challenge to reporters to follow him around in the wake of allegations of an extramarital affair. They did, and Hart and his presidential ambitions were history (and here).
The chase is on to solve the mystery (here and here). So, forget about “M:I3.” This summer’s blockbuster will be playing in congressional hearing rooms and federal courtrooms.
