Last August, President Bush took a vacation from his six-week vacation to say that we must honor the troops killed in Iraq by keeping our troops there to die or get wounded. Then 1,864 soldiers had died. Sadly, we're fast approaching 2000 dead.
To mark this grim milestone in this senseless war (and here), a nationwide day of action will be held on the day after the 2000th death. In New York City, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Gold Star Families for Peace, and other patriotic Americans will gather in Rockefeller Center and the Times Square Recruiting Center.
I will be Times Square with the audacious women of Code Pink. And, yes, I will be flashing a little...pink. For the location of an event near you, click here.
